When to Watch Sochi 2014

The 2014 Winter Olympics begin in Sochi at the end of this week, so we thought we’d put some info together so you have everything you need to catch all the best freestyle skiing and snowboarding events.

The 2014 Winter Olympics will take place from 7th to 23rd February then the Paralympic Winter Games will commence from 7th – 16th March. The BBC will have it’s highest coverage ever of the events so make sure you tune in to watch. In addition to 200 hours of network TV coverage, there will also be more than 650 hours of live action via six HD streams. It will start on 7th February on BBC 2 with live presenting from 7am to 7pm every day & for those of us who can’t watch daytime TV during the week, there’s a highlight show from 7 to 8pm on BBC 2 every night.

It’s a really exciting year for Team GB with the UK having it’s highest hopes on medals in a winter olympics ever. Part of this is down to the UK having a really strong Freestyle Ski and Snowboard team and slope style featuring for the first time ever. The Slopestyle events look set to be the highlight of the 2014 freestyle calendar with the likes of Jenny Jones, James Woods, Billy Morgan, Jamie Nicholls, Aimee Fuller, Katie Summerhayes all having high podium chances & Dom Harington, Murray Buchan & Ben Kilner looking strong for Pipe…medals hopes for GB are the highest they’ve ever been!

The amazing Team GB athletes have all been working really hard in the build up to the Olympics in order to meet the difficult quotas to compete at Sochi. With many of the Team GB athletes good friends of Treeline & having spent lots of time in Morzine, we are getting mega excited about supporting these superstars at the Olympics.

Sochi is 4 hours ahead of the UK which means the timings are pretty good for us in terms of watching the events. Please note all the times below are UK local times.
