New Ski Lift for Avoriaz!

This summer, Avoriaz is investing in another new ski lift which will be ready for the start of Winter 15/16! This continued modernisation of the Portes du Soliel ski lift system follows on from 2 ski lifts replacements last summer which helped with the flow of skiers and snowboarders & successfully reduced queues! This time, SERMA (the company operating the Avoriaz ski lift infrastructure) are replacing the Brochaux chairlift.

The Brochaux chairlift takes you back towards Avoriaz from the bottom of the Mossettes chairlift. Previously a 3 man (slightly uncomfortable) chair, it will be replaced by a speedy modern 6 man which can carry up to 3000 people per hour! This means after enjoying the long & scenic Mossettes pistes, you won’t be faced with a long flat section back to Lindarets (yay for snowboarders!) and it will bring you back to the top of the Lindarets bowl where you can choose to ski into the Lindarets bowl or hop across to Avoriaz.

There will also be new base and top stations with slight repositioning of both the base (moving 30 metres) and the top station (moving 280 m east of the ridge). Work has already commenced and the project is set for completion in December 2015.
